How much does it cost?

One of the reasons why our patients love the Coast Ultrasound Clinic is because we provide our imaging scans at the lowest cost to our patients. Our scans start at $100 for a full Imaging plus a doctor's written report.

If you get our scans done at one of the popular Imaging chains, or even at a hospital, it can cost you anywhere from $1,000 to over $3,000.

We provide our service at a fraction of that cost, which is why our patients love our clinic.

Do I need a doctor's order/referral?

You are welcome to bring your orders from your physician or have your Dr. Fax us his orders to our FAX (844) 740-0174 we will send the results report directly back to him after our radiologist reads the exam.

If you don't have a referral no problem, the state of Mississippi does not require a referral for ultrasound services, we have contracted with local physicians if you do not have a referral we will connect you with a physician so you have someone to follow up with your study results. Since we do not bill insurance, we do not require this, however, if you have your exam with another company that accepts insurance you may need a referral.

One of the reasons why our patients love our clinic is because we allow our patients to “self-refer". That means that you can schedule scans at your convenience without the hassle of insurance companies, getting a doctor’s referral, or the extended wait times that imaging clinics might have.

Do we accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance, which is why costs are so low. Companies that accept insurance require doctor’s referrals and also have to delay appointments while waiting for your insurance to approve your exam. We cut through all that red tape and schedule your appointment quickly and affordably.

How long does the exam take?

Most ultrasounds take around 25 minutes to complete. It's always a good idea to plan 45 minutes in your schedule so we can have time to talk about why you are having the exam and to get relaxed before your exam.

How will I get my results?

After your scan, the images will be examined by a Board Certified Radiologist or Cardiologist. A report will be sent to your Doctor or referring clinician. You will also be sent your report electronically via email. We aim to deliver all reports and images within 1-3 working days.

Will my doctor accept my results?

Typically results are sent in 3 business days. Same-day results may be available for urgent or surgical patients.

What is an Ultrasound?

Ultrasound is a way of taking pictures inside the body using sound waves. An ultrasound is safe, painless and does not have radiation. It is used to detect a variety of conditions in the heart, abdominal area, tumors, cysts, gallstones, uterus, pregnancy and more.

What happens during an Ultrasound?

During an Ultrasound, the patient lies down on a table, as the sonographer gently guides an ultrasound probe over the intended area. Typically no fasting is required (except with abdominal exams). Most exams take 20-30 minutes, although some may take closer to one hour.

It is suitable for every part of your body, including breast, heart, and arteries and is one of the most widely used imaging techniques to date.

What happens if my results are abnormal?

If your Imaging scan has any abnormal or irregular findings, our board-certified radiologist / cardiologist will review the scan and detail these abnormalities and irregularities in the report.

Can I drive myself after my scan?

Will I need to be sedated during the scan?

We do not sedate our patients for imaging scans at the Coast Ultrasound Clinic.

What are the risks of ultrasound?

The ultrasounds that we perform at our clinic are not invasive and carry little to no risk.

If you have any specific risks depending on your health condition, please contact us so we can address those beforehand.

With over 40 years combined experience....
Here is how it all started.

Alicia Gatz, RDMS OB/GYN

Board Certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Covid turned our worlds upside down and in the Spring of 2021 my family decided to not wait for retirement to fulfill our dreams and relocated to the Gulf Coast area. It has long been apparent to me that the OB offices were becoming too busy to allow the moms to truly bond with their babies the way they used to, so moving out on my own was my way to help the moms get that time back with their babies. I have tried to keep my prices down so that all moms can enjoy the special gift of bonding with their babies. I do my best to create a comfortable atmosphere to make everyone feel at home.

I have a very supportive husband Mike, two daughters, and a son. I attended Lincoln Trail College and received a certificate in nursing in 1995 and Washburn University where I received my Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2009.  I was hired by the Truman Hospital Lakewood in my last semester of school and worked there for several years.  In 2005 I was recruited to go to work at an OB/GYN Office where my passion for this work was ignited.  Since that time I continued to work for a variety of medical practices around the Kansas City Metro area.   Upon relocation, I was hired by Mississippi Gulf Coast OB/GYN in the summer of  Summer of 2021, so many of you will also see me for your diagnostic ultrasounds as I continue to work for Dr. Horn, Dr. Moore, Dr. Bertrand and Jessica Beck NP.

Scottie Adams, RT, RDMS, RVT

Board Certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

I have had a lifelong fascination with the human body and its physiology. My interest in sonography began when I was having weekly ultrasounds during my first pregnancy. I was in awe of the detail and the way I was able to connect with her before she had even arrived. There was a great sense of peace it provided me, as well, due to some possibilities of medical issues she could be faced with at birth. I knew from that moment on I would be choosing ultrasound for my career.

I attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA, earning my A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology in 2006. As I entered the workforce, I was able to partner with networking hospitals in the region to cross-train in ultrasound and CT. By 2011 I had received my RDMS credential for abdomen and small parts, as well as obstetrics and gynecology. In 2013 I became registered in computed tomography receiving my ARRT CT credential and in 2017 received my RVT credential for vascular ultrasound.

I have had the privilege to work at a variety of facilities throughout my career giving me the opportunity to always be learning new skills and improving upon my work.

I moved to the Gulf Coast in 2018 with my husband, daughter, and son after my husband's retirement from the United States Army. We enjoy spending time out on the water and anything we can do that has us together as a family!

I look forward to all the moments I get the privilege to serve each and every person/family that comes through our door!
